Nancy Hokanson

I have been making things all my life. Growing up as an only child I first learned to sew doll clothes that skill translated to making clothes for children when I got married. I come from a jewelry family, my grandfather was a jeweler in Germany. I am self taught in jewelry making. My designs are inspired by the world around me, often I think of a design in my sleep and will wake up to jot it down to be made in the future. My jewelry is made from gemstones, semi-precious stones, natural beads, crystal and glass. I make earrings, bracelets, necklaces and pins.
Five years ago I turned to painting in oil, watercolor and pastels. I love landscapes, island’s and the water. I do this work in wall hangings and notecards. Scratch art excites me and brings out my love of animals. My work includes domestic animals , cats and dogs and exotic animals from around the world.
I enjoy making different things but will do custom orders
